Hello world,

It is a very busy week as we try to finish our assignments so that we can relax and start our holidays much sooner. We are done with one of mr. Niranjan Singh's assignment in professional practice and we were done with it yesterday so it is ready to be passed up. Our classes for Engine management systems is already finished so for now we can just concentrate on our calculations assignment which is due in another two weeks. after we are done with this assignment we can be starting our holidays for Winter which means we get to travel and maybe have some fun in the snow!!! This would be my first snow experience and it is gonna be fun.......pictures will be uploaded soon but until then........

Week 17!

Hello world,

Phewh! What a tiring week it is for us. The good news is that we presented last Thursday.....YaY!!! im so relieved that its over. Winter break is coming and i am still looking for a part time job with no succession. As the holidays are almost here, so does the due date for ALL assignments.....yeap that's a heap loads of assignments for us which is 3 in total. Don"t let the number fool you because it is a BIG assignment!!! Stressed and tired due to the hours spent on doing it but a sigh of relief will soon follow after all has been passed up. It was the last week of class for Mr. Anura's EMS so it means more time for us to do our assignments. This also mean that there is only one class per week.
Until i finish my assignments,

Buhbye!!!

Week 16!

Hello world,

this week was indeed quite fast as its all about assignments. Assignment of mr. Andy has been passed up last Thursday....YaY!!! and we have to present our idea to 70 students (if they all appear at once) this Thursday on the 6th of June. My EMS assignment has been running slow as i am confused with what mr. Anura wants because i would not want to disappoint myself with another 16/25 mark so that pressures me quite.....much.
Last Friday during our practicals in engine management systems we all did emissions test and some of our classmates brought their car with them to perform this task. The week passed by without touching mr. Niranjan's Professional Practice assignment and we all felt shy answering him when he asked about our progress in the assignment. I am thankful that i have accomplished about 75% of the assignment and hope that i can finish it by today so that i have room to finish the other assignments. A few weeks more till semester break........can't wait!!!

until then,
Buhbye!!!

Week 15!

Hello world,

It's a fast week this...that's because assignments are due this week, sort of....and this assignment which is innovative uses of technology has its innovative way of wrecking your brain because we have to think of problems and solutions to our innovations. Writing the innovation is easy peezy but coming up with the solutions to the problems is mind boggling. We would have to think of a problem to write of and also at the same time come up with a solution to the problem. Wow!!!

Engine management systems is also quite confusing as I know I'm not good with sensors and understanding waveforms but thankfully I got to learn a thing or two through our practical by meddling with the picoscope and also with the wiring. I found out that if we ground the injector directly it will stay open all the time and thus flooding the engine with fuel and If we supply the injector with constant voltage it will always stay closed  so that way we would create an incident where two injectors would stay closed because two out of the four injectors were squirting so that made the engine run on two cylinders. Mr. Anura told us that we could fiddle around with the engine, so we did. I'm glad I learnt something. Well that's all for this week!

Buhbye!!!

the beautiful month of May is almost at its end and what a great way to end it!!!
Fast & Furious 6 is coming out next week....YaY!!!......and we went all the way to Whangarei to watch a rally, it was awesome!!!
Cars Jump over the Hella Bridge!
Ford Fiesta taking a corner.

well thats all for this week,
Buhbye!!!

Week 13!

Hello world,

finally its the start of classes!!! some may be happy and some may be sad but i know i am happy as the holiday has been dull here in New Zealand albeit not so when friends come over to chit chat, watch movies and also play a few rounds of FIFA....yeah!!!
we started with mr. Anura's class on Tuesday where he talked to us in a language called chemistry. Why do i say this??? well its because the class was about pollutants from vehicles and how they came to be. He also reminded us about our presentation which is due the next week, which is bad news and good for some....i like presentations, because they boost my confidence in a crowd making me daring to do crazy stuff (not yet). He also told us that we do not have class on Friday so that we have ample time to prepare our presentations. We thought we did not have any more classes and the day was gonna be free......but we forgot mr. Niranjan because we have a class with him at 3pm and also we had to wake up early in the morning just to fill up a course evaluation form!!!
Nevertheless the day was not wasted as we installed a new player for our friend mr. Khalil in his Subaru Forester. A few screws and yanking around of the covers and the old player was removed. We thought we would need to buy a soldering gun, multimeter and all the wiring equipments for this project and it would cost a lot of money but thankful for the creation of the wiring that was used to connect from the subaru factory connector to the head unit which we got at Repco. It costs 16NZD each. Cheap compared to the other solution which was to hire a person to install it which would cost 85NZD!!!

and that concludes our week so until then,

Buhbye!!!

Week 12!

Hello world,

Week 12 is here and a chilly and wet one it is. The rainy season has started which shows that winter is approaching (according to David...). This week passed slowly as usual as it is still the holidays for us. Karim started his car on one fine day and noticed that oil was leaking from the underside of his car. He drove the car a few metres forward and we checked and found out that it was engine oil and started speculating that it is from the oil sum and the labour charge to replace the gasket itself costs 200NZD.....WoW thats expensive!!! We decided to fix the car on Friday.....which is my birthday, YaY!!! We woke up early and drove over to Unitec's Residential Village at 1510 and proceeded to check where the leak was coming from and thank god it is just from the housing of the filter. We had to remove the belts (which were replaced since it was cracked anyways) and also one tensioner located at the top. Alternator was also removed and then 6 x 10mm bolts later the housing was removed and the culprit of the problem was found. It appears that the metal gasket for the housing was in pieces and the oil was squirting out slowly...we started at 9am and finished at 12pm with the help of our BMW specialist Mohan.
We then proceeded to our base (which is the apartment of Karim and I) and rested. Mohan slept of and oh did he snore!!! After resting we decided to go for Lunch which was at about 5:30pm so it was considered dinner...haha!!!
Lebanese food on Dominion road.....slrrrrrp!!!
after the dinner i went off in Syam's brand new (second hand..hehe) Nissan Pulsar Serie Rezzo 1.5 in Mean Green which has only 69,000km!!! not bad for a 15 year old car which costs about 6,000NZD!!! I drove that car to send Khalil back to the city and came back after that short drive. Karim and Mohan were still out but came back with a surprise.....a birthday cake for me!!! I was so surprised and excited that my non-biological brother bought me a cake to celebrate my birthday....so thoughtful of him!!!

Happy Birthday to me!!!
After three bottles of diesel with an octane rating of 80 (yea i guess the manufacturer does not know much about cars....hahaha!!!) and a bottle of Heineken we went outside as Syam and David were going back home. To think that the day has ended......Cheng showed up so we chatted for another half hour or so and after that went back to our apartment for a good night's sleep.
Booze!!!
well thats all for this week....until then
Buhbye!!!
